Delete radio station

Solved!

Delete radio station

Hi

I accidentally added a radio station for someone I really didn't want to but can't find a way to delete them from my list

Can anyone please help and tell me how to?

You don't need the Pandora Preimuim to test their radio fratures, all the features are in the free version. The premium version only eliminate adds and improve atreaming quality.

Spotify, please add the ability to delete radio stations. This is very important to me as a customer.

Seriously?? You cannot remove a playlist/station from "favorites"???

You can remove a playlist.  You CANNOT delete a radio station that you created.  Strange but true.  Also - I tried creating a radio station using Eric Himan - a little-known but excellent folk/rock singer-songwriter from Tulsa.  It played "vaguely" similar artists - and not ONE Eric Himan song, after I listened to 10 songs - and all of Eric's albums are available on  Spotify.  Even stranger.  Didn't have that problem with Pandora - they STARTED with an Eric Himan song, then about every 5th song was an E.H. tune.  Will stick with Pandora for any radio time.  I do like Spotify for their playlists and "wealth" of music.

I just registered and started exploring the Spotify features via web which I found them really interesting.

I was searching the "Radio" tab features and I found out that I have in "My stations" one artist who I don't like at all.

Probably he got automatically in my stations during my first visit in this tab because he was featured or something.

I thought I could remove him easily by visiting the profile or by another simple way but I couldn't.

So... I've spent very much time trying to remove this station, It's somewhat ridiculous that you can't remove your stations.

seems like this is a long term problem - it ought to be a really simple fix.  please do it!

which is worst I have a radion station that I didn't even add... come on! Eminem???? it's ok if some people like him, but not my case.

I tried gaining access to Spotify when it was first offered through facebook.  Had trouble and didn't try again until now.  I had no idea there were so many issues with the site.  Like others here, I have a radio station I do not want and cannot delete.  I was looking for quick guide to how everything works but info is so difficult to find here.  I think I'm headed back to Pandora.

I just canceled my Spotify-Premium-Account and switched to WiMP - very good service and solid quality!

Not only because of the unability to delete radio-stations, also because there are no other options but creating playlists.

I really needed the abillity to browse choosen albums and artists, not just playlists.

In the end, I had so many - it was a complete mess.

...and I only had Spotify for about 6 months... Can't imagine the mess after several years...

Just got into this service, liked the variety and ablitiy to customize areas. However DO NOT like that I can't delete radio stations, Itunes Radio lets me and it just started less than 5 months ago. Also don't like that any of the "suggested" stations aren't any where near what I have liked for artists. I was thinking about spending the $10 per month to go premium but after spending the better part of a half hour looking for an answer when there is baisically no answer, not having the ablility to simply delete a station, for right now, I will uninstall it from my phone and stick w Itunes Radio and only pay $25 per year for their match service.  Too bad, this has some nice features, but I guess I will have to abandon it for now.

With all of the nice features of Spotify - you would certainly think that they could address this one relatively easy - I would think - fix to what they offer.  Encouraging to see others have the same feeling of frustration.  Maybe if we all yell loud enough they will listen.  Won't hold my breath though!

I, too, believe this hasn't been addressed after so much time and so many complaints. I don't know much about computing, but it mustn't be so hard to implement since others have done it..

Just checking out (free) Spotify, as my brother in the UK likes & recommends it. A reasonably literate computer user can eventually figure out most of the mechanics, but there really is little documentation. And it's interesting how the annoyances of the free version are just enough to make one *nearly* want the Premium.  But $10/month for music I don't actually own?  No thanks.  Maybe OK for frequent travelers with smart phones who can dock their phone to their home stereo, etc etc etc.

The lack of ability to delete a radio station or genre that one just clicked on to check it out is idiotic and annoying, but indicative of the mindset of many companies trying to figure out how to make money in the era of "everything on the Internet is free." Most big online services (newspapers, Facebook, etc) are still trying to solve this puzzle. That said, the lack of response to this feature issue by Spotify is a strong reason NOT to subscribe and give them $120 a year for rescindable cyber-ownership of tunes. Just my opinion, your mileage may vary.

And here is an excellent example of why Spotify should  provide deletion capabilities.  I just tried to "create" a radio station using the Led Zeppelin page as my starting point.  The first song they played was "A House is Not a Home" by Burt Bacharach.  For those of you 25 & under - look him up.  Burt Bacharach for Christ's sake - as the first song on my Led Zeppelin radio station.  Now of course will have to delete up to 20 of my current radio stations to delete this idiotic radio station.  Definitely sticking with Pandora for radio - and will probably spend the $6-$8 for them - because they wouldn't EVER start a Led Zeppelin station with Burt Bacharach.  Spotify - you're a great curator of music - playlists and all that - but NO WAY will I pay you a dime to get rid of the ads.

Actually, Sony Music Unlimited has these features and is cheaper... Just a crapy UI... So yes, I'd move to this other service instead!

Looks like some good music on Sony MU, but sheesh, the web UI is awful! They offer a 30-day free trial, but NOWHERE do they tell you what the monthly cost is afterwards ($5...  I think).  the Sony MU android app also has quite a few negative reviews- lots of network issues, etc.

So far, streaming music services in general seem rather "not ready for prime time."  I'll check out Pandora next...

SOLUTION!

Delete/Remove Spotify

Install Pandora

Simple and easy.

So, with a large list of music to my liking, I am using either Amazon or Google play while at home and Pandora or my Bluetooth phone in the car. My likings for good music do not include the likes of M&M or some other trash when it's clear that my tastes are Classic Rock and old school Metal. Ronnie James Dio would turn over in his grave if he knew that Beiber was being played on a Metal Station. It makes me want to kick my own tail to see Miley Cyrus show up ANYWHERE on here!

Slacker has this fuctionality...

I was considiering making the jump to a paid customer but this is really annoying me. I dont want any of the stations on my account as I was just testing things out at first. Oh well, guess I will stay with Slacker Radio...

So if I create 20 new stations, I can get rid of the one I would like to delete?  Great!  What a wonderful solution.
