My Question or Issue

For the last couple of months, I've had this issue on both mobile (Pixel 6 on Android) and desktop (a custom PC running Windows 10). If I'm listening to a song, occasionally I'll want to listen again from the beginning, so I'll press back/rewind, either using a software button or my keyboard's rewind button. The playtime slider will shoot back to 0:00, but the song continues playing as if nothing has happened. The only way I can usually get it to play from the beginning is to go back into the library and doubleclick the song, or manually manipulate the slider forward and then back to 0:00 with my mouse/finger. This doesn't happen 100% of the time - more like 50% of the time, and is usually more of a problem if I'm in the middle two-thirds of a track, rather than the first or last 1/6th. I've tried updating both Android/Desktop apps, uninstalling/reinstalling them, disconnecting and reconnecting my account. Any idea what's going on here?

Hey @hey-incendiary,

Thanks for posting in the Community.

If you're using your phone to navigate the playback on your PC through Connect or vice versa, certain latency issues may arise due to the different nature of the desktop app and the mobile app. These issues could be possibly alleviated, if you perform some network troubleshooting. Do you mind trying to connect your PC to the internet through a hot spot on your phone? Does the navigation work more consistently?

You can also check if the slider behaves differently while controlling playback on the we player. Does it?

It is also important to try out the proposed things after a clean reinstall of the app on the devices you're using, so we can be sure, that you're using a fresh installation of the app. Here are the steps for that.

Keep us posted,

Cheers!

Thanks for replying, Dian.

It's not quite that, though. I'm not using my phone to control playback on the PC. Sorry if I was unclear.

This issue exists on BOTH desktop and Android, when using the buttons *within those clients* to back up to the beginning of the track. (Meaning, on desktop I use either the hardware buttons on my keyboard or the software "Back" button at the bottom of the desktop client.)

Have performed clean reinstalls, but I'm going to guess my uninstalls were "clean" last time, too, as the normal uninstall process this time also removed any lingering files in AppData (windows) or local storage (Android).

Will report back if this fixes it, but I doubt it.

Hi @hey-incendiary,

Thanks for your reply.

In this case, we recommend that you make sure your phone and PC/laptop is connected to a strong WiFi network and check if the issue persists (you can try 5G, if possible).

On another note, could you tell us if this is happening with any song or playlist (downloaded or not)?

Lastly, let us know if this happens when logging in with a different account (if possible).

We'll be here standing by.
