Desktop app - buttons frozen and continues playing after closing.

Desktop app - buttons frozen and continues playing after closing.

Premium subsriber. After playing for about an hour, buttons freeze - e.g.shuffle on/off or play. When I close the app, it's still playing - it is not minimized and if I try to open it again it won't.


When I look at Task Manager several instances of Spotify are still appearing, which I know is an expected thing, but it's like I'm trying to play the wrong instance of it. I can't open the app again until I've finished all instances of it from the Task Manager.

This is the second day of this happening. Reinstalling doesn't help, turning everything on and off doesn't help. I can listen on the online version.

This type of issue is commonly related to some damaged cache stored on your device. We understand you’ve already tried some troubleshooting steps, including reinstalling, but to be sure that we're on the same page, did you use the steps for a clean reinstall mentioned in this article?

If so, since the resolution may vary between devices, include in your next response the make, model, and OS version of your device, along with the Spotify version you're currently running, to continue investigating the case.
