I don't know since when this is happening, but I have turned off the overlay option in the settings and the slider actually shows "off".
When I start Spotify the overlay is there again until I go to the settings and turn the overlay option on and off again. This happens every single time spotify is closed and started again.
It is rather annoying that the setting is not being saved correctly or applied propperly.
Same only started happening in the past week for me, v1.0.82.447.g975ad224
same here 1.0.82.447.g975ad224
Ditto here! I turned it off, and it stayed off for a while, but now it's back. It takes up way too much room on the left of my screen and takes too long to go away.
I already commented, but I'd add that I also have two monitors like another user mentioned. It does not seem to matter on which screen Spotify is opened though.
Spotify 1.0.82.447.g975ad224
Windows 10 Pro, v1803, build 17134.48

unfortunately this doesn't work here.
Same issue. Windows 10, spotify v.1.0.82.447.g975ad224.
Experiencing the same, does not matter which monitor Spotify is on, but I do have a two-monitor setup.
Toggling on and off again fixes it until Spotify is restarted.
This used to work so as others have noted, this is a regression.
1.0.82.447.g975ad224
I think the update I got 2 minutes ago just fixed it? Maybe for others as well.
After an update now on version 1.0.83.316.ge96b6e67.
The problem is still there... Disappointing.
Same issue
Spotify version 1.0.82.447.g975ad224
Windows 10 (fully updated)
problem still exists in 1.0.83.318.g6c07039d
how difficult is it to fix**bleep** in 3 weeks time
Same issue here. Super annoying. Uninstall/reinstall doesn't help. Logging out then back in, doesn't help (both support suggestions).
The problem still exists in 1.0.83.318.g6c07039d
Is it really THAT hard to fix, that even after an update and X weeks of waiting for it, we still have to live with this annoying little bug?
Same
Windows 10 Home, last Spotify version.
Same here! I can get it turned off by enabling and disabling the function. But as soon as Spotify/Windows is restarted, it's back =/
Same issue, updated yesterday to 1.0.83.318.g6c07039d on Windows 10 Enterprise 64 bit with dual monitor setup.
Same, please fix this annoying popup overlay. Like others have said if im trying to work and I skip to the next track I have to wait for the stupid overlay to fade away.... its annoying and unesecery.
