[Desktop] "Set the same volume level for all songs" on desktop app does not work

[Desktop] "Set the same volume level for all songs" on desktop app does not work

For a long time, I've had issues with the Spotify desktop app playing the same volume for every song. The mobile app (iOS) and Web Player keep the songs at the same level without a problem. However, I frequently come across entire albums or even a single song within an album that are significantly quieter than everything else. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling, checking for updates, any other typical troubleshooting methods but to no avail. I'm constantly having this issue and it's extremely annoying.

Still dones't work altough if I heard right it also reduces the dynamic range of the music, which sucks. Please just make it lower the volume based on the loudest part of the song, don't kill dynamic range... Even winamp in 1995 wouldn't do that.

6 months later and this bug has not been fixed.

Running Spotify version 1.0.69.336.g7edcc575 on Mac.

I've got also an issue with the normalization of the volume with the version 1.0.69 (I'm running win 8.1 x64).

In the windows 10 app, it seems that the bug is fixed (see https://community.spotify.com/t5/Ongoing-Issues/desktop-win-quot-Set-the-same-level-for-all-songs-qu... )

Dear Spotify developpers, don't forget the others platforms 🙂 thanks.

An update I just installed now (1.0.70.388.g8e1ed5af) (21/Dec/2017 1AM AEST) halfed fixed the issue.

The switch stays enabled after the song finishes. But quitting Spotify will reset the switch again.
