My Question or Issue

Hi! I'm trying to use the Desktop version of Spotify on Windows 10. Unfortunately whenever I try to play a track that isn't in my library or one of my playlists the program refuses to play it. When trying to add it to my queue it doesn't add it to the queue. It's like the program doesn't respond or react at all to my attempts to interact with the tracks. I have no issue searches for the artists/albums in question, just that it won't play.

Hey there folks,

Thank you for reaching out here in the Community!

We'd recommend performing a clean reinstall of the app. This one is more thorough than a regular one and can it'll remove the old drivers first and then install the new ones. This tends to solve issues with the app's performance on Windows 10. Give your device a quick restart as well before you open the newly installed app.

If a family member has a Spotify account, it could also be a good idea to ask them to log in on your computer to see if the app behaves the same way.

Can you let us know which source you used to download Desktop App? If you have downloaded from the Windows Apps store, could you try getting it from our web site and vice versa?

In case the issue persists, please send over a video or some screenshots where we can take a better look at this behavior. This will help us investigate further.

Let us know how you get on. We'll be on the lookout for your replies!
