I have a bluetooth speaker that turns off when the computer is inactive for ten minutes. If Spotify is open and paused, the bluetooth speaker turning off triggers Spotify (and only Spotify, no other apps) to start playing whatever song was paused.
I've tried deleting and reconnecting the bluetooth speaker, uninstalling and reinstalling Spotify, and checking my Windows 10 settings. I have found no solution.

My Question or Issue
Hi!
Same issue here with a Dell Latitude on Windows 10. When my Bose bluetooth speaker turns off, if Spotify is launched and paused, the music resumes.
I can hear the music for a brief moment on the speaker just before it turns off, and then on the laptop.
I am risking a heart attack every time... Any help would be appreciated!
Hey @sushibear2002 and @yoann_ge,
Thanks for reaching out to the Community with this.
Can you give these steps a go and run a clean reinstall? These ones are more thorough. That way you can make sure the cache is not causing this issue. Be sure to also restart your computer before installing the app anew. This step is often overlooked, but very effective.
If that doesn't fix things, could you let us know if you can replicate the issue when connecting your Bluetooth speakers to another device?
Hope you find this useful. Keep us posted how you get on.
I had the same issue. It's a bug in the media overlay controls, I suspect. Turning them off stopped the poor behaviour.
To turn useful, yet ultimately stupid feature off:
* Edit > Preferences
* Look under Display Options
* Disable slider on "Show desktop overlay when using media keys"
Worked for me.
Debug information for spotify:
App version: 1.1.66.580.gbd43cbc9-a
Windows version:
* Edition Windows 10 Pro
* Version 20H2
* Installed on 12/01/2021
* OS build 19042.1165
* Experience Windows Feature Experience Pack 120.2212.3530.0
Bluetooth device: all devices tested with same behaviour:
* Bose soundlink mini V1
* Bose soundlink micro
* Sony 1000XM2 headphones
Steps to replicate
1 pair bluetooth device, connect device
2 play music on spotify
3 pause music on spotify
4 turn off device (do not disconnect from windows)
5 spotify starts playing (when overlay is enabled)
It works for me too, thank you so much !

Wow this seemed to fix it for me. Stupid bug would play from the laptop speaker when my laptop is closed and locked. It would be so loud and out of nowhere!
Actually it happened again to me so I'm still running into this issue.
Hey @Seiha,
Thanks for posting on the Community about this 🙂
Could you let us know in more details what is happening on your end?
What would the steps to reproduce the issue be and does it occur every time you do this or randomly?
The more we know about this issue, the easier it will be to resolve.
Fingers crossed! We'll be on the lookout for your reply.
