Distorted sound after using touchpad gestures

Distorted sound after using touchpad gestures

Plan: Premium

Country: Italy

Device: Samsung Galaxy Book 3 (Intel i7)

Operating System: Windows 11 home

My Question or Issue:

I enabled gestures for controlling music playback in the Windows system settings (4 fingers to pause/play/skip tracks).

When I listen to lossless music with the “output (beta)” settings configured to play through an external device (headphones or monitor), if I use the touchpad to skip to the next track the audio becomes distorted. I have to pause and play the track again to hear it without distortion (it works fine even if I use the touchpad to pause and play).

Hi there @Rico26,

Thanks for reaching out and welcome to the Spotify Community!

To help us narrow this down, could you try the following and let us know the results:

  1. Disable Output (Beta) and test whether the distortion still occurs when skipping tracks with the touchpad gesture.
  2. Try skipping tracks using:
    • the Spotify app controls
    • your keyboard's media keys (if available)
  3. Make sure both Spotify and your audio drivers are fully up to date.
  4. If possible, test with a different output device (for example, another pair of headphones or a different monitor/audio interface).

There are some useful steps in this article, which we'd recommend trying. Although it's not related to the issue you've described, it contains some useful troubleshooting applicable to your case.

Keep us posted.
