Do I need to Update and if so how?

Do I need to Update and if so how?

I am currently using version 1.1.53.608.g7ed9c03a-a on Windows 10. I received an email saying the app is out of date and needs to be updated by May 12, 2023.

 

The Spotify App doesn't list an update and when I download it from the spotify site it tells me Spotify is already installed? Will I be ok, or do I have to uninstall and reinstall (I hope not don't want to lose any preferences)?

The version of Spotify you're currently using is a little over two years old, so I recommend performing a clean reinstall of the Spotify app. 🙂

 

This can be done by following this guide. Keep in mind that, while any settings made within the Spotify app will be reset, your playlists and saved music will stay as they are part of your account.
