Equalizer feature not showing up in desktop app - Windows 11

Equalizer feature not showing up in desktop app - Windows 11

  • Device/OS: Windows 11
  • Plan: Premium
  • Country: Bangladesh

I've just started using Spotify on Windows 11; as you can see, in my settings, there is no Equalizer function under Audio Quality OR Playback. Equalizer shows up fine on all my other linked devices (which includes a Windows 10). This is the first time I've experienced such an issue. What do I do?

Hi there @shehrinh1812,

You can try logging out from your account and signing back in to see if that does the trick. If the equalizer is still missing under Playback in the app's settings, I'd recommend resetting your preferences by deleting the prefs file:

  1. Open Spotify and make sure it’s running in the background.
  2. Open the Task Manager in Windows and switch to the Details tab.
  3. Locate the process Spotify.exe, right-click it and select Open file location to open the Spotify folder.
  4. There you'll find a file called prefs, which holds info about the currently logged in account. Simply delete it.
  5. While in the Spotify folder, you'll also find a Users folder. Open it and delete its contents as well.
  6. Restart the Spotify app.

Note that you'll be logged out and your settings will be reset, so you'll have to adjust them again. If you had music downloaded for offline listening, you'll have to re-download it as well. Your library, however, will not be affected, so no worries there.

Let us know how it goes.

Cheers!
