Friend activity isn't there when using my home's network but come back when I use other networks

My Question or Issue

I only have a single friend on Spotify who disappears from friends listening feed when I am using my default home network. But it comes back when I use my mobile's hotspot or I use a VPN. I even confirmed with him that he is  sharing his listening activity is not having a private session under settings and even I have enabled friend's feeds. Also, I know that the app itself isn't the problem here but I don't know how to fix it. He follows me and I follow him on Spotify and we aren't friends through Facebook connections. I have tried logging out and in, as well as reinstalling the app itself.

Hey there! 

That's something I hear for a first time, I assume there's any network restriction which can disable your activity. Have you tried to go to the 3-dot menu > View > Friend Activity. Uncheck it and check it again, this should refresh the Friend Activity and it's likely to show your friends again. 

If still nothing, you can quit spotify, stop your internet connection, open spotify and start the internet again. 

You can reply back if the above solutions doesn't work for you and I'll try to find an other fix, thanks!

Hey, I'm facing the same issue.

I'm in India and the country is set to the USA, and I can see my friends with a VPN connection even when I set the country to India (in Spotify), but without a VPN, I don't see them. It was working just fine without a VPN a day ago.

Did you find a fix for this by any chance?

Can you let us know what troubleshooting you've done so far?

Can you also try the following if you haven't:

1. Close the Spotify app.
2. Click on the Start Icon.
3. Write cmd to open the Command Prompt.
4. The Windows Command Prompt Window will appear. Type in: ipconfig /flushdns and press ENTER.
5. They should receive the following message: Windows IP Configuration. Successfully flushed the DNS Resolver Cache.
6. Open the Spotify application.
