So you all removed the option of showing unavailable tracks in playlists, but the problem is that I had a couple of them that I never removed. How do I remove them now that I can't see them? I keep getting "Spotify can't play this right now" whenever these ghost tracks come on while listening on shuffle, and it's starting to get annoying.
I don't understand why you would choose to remove the option of seeing hidden/removed/unavailable tracks in playlists without ALSO REMOVING THOSE TRACKS FROM THOSE PLAYLISTS. You just hide them, but keep them in the playlists, so that Spotify can spit blue window telling you they can't play the song every so often just to remind you they're still there and there's no option to remove them because why would the devs think that far ahead. It's ridiculous.
Can I get any help removing these hidden songs at all or am I just f\cked, like I am every time the Spotify devs decide to f\ck around?
I still need help, if at all possible.
Hey there @Lumpyguy,
Thanks for reaching out to the Community 🙂
In order to report this correctly, could you let us know the exact app version you're currently running?
It would also be helpful to have a screenshot or a video where we can take a better look at what you're seeing from your end. You can attach them to your next response to us by using the Insert Photos or Insert Video options in the post editor.
For now, as a workaround, we'd suggest creating a copy of the playlist. Make sure to open the original playlist, select all the songs and copy them to the new playlist. This way any hidden/unavailable songs shouldn't be copied.
Keep us posted!

This sh\ttily optimized forum decided to eat my post and give me an error, so let's try this again.
I'm not sure what information you're hoping to gleam from getting a screenshot or video of the error in question. All it does is pop up in the middle lower part of the screen right above the play button to let you know that the ghost track it tried to play is unavailable. If it really is that important let me know and I can get you that picture next time it happens.
As for the workaround, it will not work. We're talking about all my playlists here, even my Liked Songs. I can only remove the songs I can see from my playlists, so even if I unliked/unhearted/removed all songs from my Liked Songs, the ghost tracks will still be there because I can't delete the Liked Songs playlist and remake it. Until given the option of seeing unavailable songs again I can not remove them from my Liked Songs.
Hey @Lumpyguy,
Thanks for the reply.
It would be great if you can insert a screenshot of the error.
Also, on Mobile you can still view unavailable tracks. You can turn this option on from Settings. Let us know if you can delete the ghost tracks this way from your phone.
Keep us posted.
Thanks for the reply. I have included a screenshot of the error message. I will download and check the mobile app workaround when I wake up tomorrow.
Hey @Lumpyguy,
Thanks for the reply.
Let us know if that works for you 🙂
Cheers.
