How can I stop my wired headphones from interfering with Spotify pause/play

I have a wired headset connected to my PC and it has a buggy pause/play button. My music keeps skipping, pausing, and playing at random intervals very frequently. Is there a way I can stop my headset from interfering with Spotify?

That's an odd behavior. To start investigating this, would you mind confirming if you've already performed a clean reinstall of the app? If not, we'd recommend following the steps mentioned in this article to see if it makes any difference. 

If the issue persists, could you check if the Web Player has the same behavior?

Lastly, since you mentioned that this is happening with your headphones, it would be great if you could test it with another different wired headphones to see if it happens as well. If you don't have other headphones available, you can borrow a pair from a friend or a family member just to test it.
