How to turn off Spotify connect?

I have Spotify on my PC (Win10) and phone (Android), both obviously connected to the same network while I'm home.

I can't find how to turn spotify connect off, when I try searching for it I just find guides that require you to either root your phone, which I don't want to, or put it in offline mode, which defeats the purpose of connecting to the wi-fi anyway.

I DON'T want my devices randomly connecting without me telling them to do so. I usually just put my PC into sleep mode when I step away from it, and I often came back to find that because I listened to Spotify on my phone, it turned back on and was running the whole time.

I know that if I remember to close Spotify before putting the PC in sleep mode solves that, but I'd rather just turn the feature off, because I don't want to use it anyway.
