Inconsistent ability to search local files

I only seem to be able to search local files two or three times within an one instance of Spotify. On the third or fourth attempt to search, there's just nothing there, no matter how long I leave it. The only way to make it work again is to close Spotify and open it again, then I get another two or three goes and we're back to no searching again. This isn't really practical. Any idea what's causing it?

Apologies if this is in the wrong place; just finding a means of posting to these forums at all took me 5 minutes, not very user-friendly is it?

Have you tried a clean reinstall? It usually solves the problem. Let me know how it goes 🙂
