Local files not playing the first time I play them

Solved!

Local files not playing the first time I play them

I'm having this weird and inconvenient glitch where most of my local files will not play the first time I try to play them. But if I try to play the same song again, it works perfectly fine the rest of the time. This happens when I boot up Spotify for the first time that day or reset it via Task Manager and I have no clue how to fix it 😞

Hi there @thenerdyartist1,

Thanks for reaching out to the Community and welcome!

To begin with, you can start by going to the app's Settings and disabling the option Show Local Files, then scroll down to Storage and select Clear cache. Once done, restart Spotify and turn the Local files back on. If that doesn't make a difference, it's best to run a clean reinstall of the Spotify app by following these steps. No worries, you won't lose any content.

If nothing helps, let us know if the Local files are greyed or if you see any error message when you try to play them. If you have the chance, send over a screenshot.

Lastly, could you also let us know what device and operating system you're using, along with the Spotify version?

We'll keep an eye out for your reply.
