Low quality on desktop even when High quality streaming is enabled(windows 10)

Low quality on desktop even when High quality streaming is enabled(windows 10)

Ever since the last update of the spotify app(3/12/18) I notice a significant drop in the quality of the stream so much so that you can't continue to listen. Every time I launch the app it seems to start in high quality mode and then seems to switch to low quality immediately. I don't have any network connectivity issues. On my iPhone same songs seems to play at a much higher quality. Please look into.

Is this happening to a specific song or album? Also, have you tried reinstalling Spotify on your desktop to see if it helps?

I tried reinstalling but it does not seem to help and it happens to all the songs I play. As I said it starts off in good quality mode but switches to bad quality within a few seconds.

I have fixed the issue. It was due to BT driver update in windows 10. It was not setting the profile correctly after latest update for the devices which were already paired before. I unpaired and paired again and it seems as good as before.
