Spotify for Windows (64 bit)
1.2.65.255.g85e641b4
Cache was cleared and app was reloaded from troubleshooting menu. App data was also reset and the app restarted from the troubleshooting menu.
After Spotify automatically updated to the above version, some lyrics that are over a line in length cause the lyrics to stop scrolling.
This occurs when the 'Your Library' section is minimised, and the 'Queue' or 'Now playing view' are closed.
This also occurs when either the 'Your Library' section is expanded or the 'Queue'/'Now playing view' is open. When open, the 'Queue'/'Now playing view' is as small as it can possibly be, though I think it's likely that any size that doesn't lower the font size of the lyrics section will run into this issue.
When both the 'Your Library' section and the 'Queue'/'Now playing view' are open, the text size is smaller and the issue does not occur.
When the song begins without the Spotify application as the active window (whether through repeat, repeat one, or a playlist) with the lyrics section open, if the lyrics are checked after one of the points they stop scrolling, the lyrics are synced up until the next lyric this occurs at.
I have been able to reproduce this issue on multiple songs over two languages. For the Japanese songs I've tested, the issue occurs on any lyric that is split over two lines. For the English song, the issue occurred on a few lyrics split over two lines but not others.
If relevant, this is in Australia and the account has Premium.
Hi there @oakacorn,
Thanks for reaching out and welcome to the Spotify Community!
We weren't able to reproduce the issue on our end, so it'd be really helpful if you can send us a couple of examples and we can take a closer look. You can also share a couple of screenshots or a screen recording. If the file is too large to attach, you can upload it to Google Drive (make sure to allow general access to the file) or as an unlisted YouTube video.
You mentioned clearing the app's cache, but we'd also recommend performing a clean reinstall of the app since it's more thorough. Before you do that you can also try logging in and out at least 3 - 4 times in a row, then force-quitting the app or closing it to make sure everything's synced.
Keep us posted.
I have followed the logging out procedure and performed a clean reinstall of the app, but the issue remains.
Here are three videos I have uploaded to Google Drive showcasing the issue:

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1QKNf_6BGEd_VT1UGAFWVFz_6hap0vSXp/view?usp=sharing
As shown in the videos, the lyrics continue scrolling until they are split over two lines.
Hi there @oakacorn,
Thanks for the info and for all the videos.
We tested this extensively on our end but were unable to reproduce this. We also therefore cannot say for sure that there is a direct correlation between the two line lyrics and the scroll breaking. So that we can try and narrow this down further, could you please test if the same occurs when:
Let us know how it goes.
I have tested the following. I tested on the same lyrics of the same song for all, and unless specified otherwise, the app was maximised and on 100% zoom level. Prior to testing I uninstalled and reinstalled the app.

My Question or Issue
I never have this issue on my iPhone 8 the lyrics always syncs up properly without any issue but when I use my laptop the lyrics look way bigger than normal and because of that the lyrics don't sync up properly. I'd have to scroll to find the lyrics and make them sync up myself but even then it just stops syncing up by itself
Hey @yvespecially, welcome to the Spotify Community! 🎵
I checked this on my app and the behaviour is similar. The font size is larger than before, but the lyrics are syncing correctly. It is, however, not jumping to the exact line if you scroll. Try opening the lyrics tab, let it go to the next line and the page should auto-scroll. If you scroll manually, it might not take you back to the active line automatically. You will have to either re-open the lyrics or scroll manually.
Could you please confirm if the behaviour is same on your end? 🙂
It syncs up for a couple of seconds then it just stops and I don’t scroll or anything it just stops
Hi there @oakacorn,
Thanks so much for taking the time to test this and follow our recommendations.
We’re taking a closer look at the situation, but we haven’t been able to reproduce the behavior from our side. We appreciate your feedback as it helps inform our decisions going forward, but just as a heads up, we’re not able to confirm when this specific issue will be resolved.
In the meantime, we recommend keeping your Spotify app up-to-date to guarantee you get the latest features and fixes.
Have a nice day!

My Question or Issue
When playing a song, the lyrics panel correctly highlights the current line, but it doesn't auto-scroll to keep the active line visible.
view-zoom out to reduce the font size and everythings solved
For me it seems it stops auto scrolling each time the current line is wrapped to fit the screen. If you hit 'Sync' it starts working again until the next time a line needs to wrap to fit.
With the desktop client reduced in size, the lyrics stop being in sync which renders the lyrics feature useless. The latest update I have adds a 'sync' button which indicates that the problem is not only known but also detected.
After months, may we have the lyrics in that small form factor people want on desktop?
