Message pop up: Spotify can't play this right now.

I can't play any music. Everytime I try, the message appears: "Message pop up: Spotify can't play this right now."
I tried installing the app again, checked the volume, device, everything. Nothing works.

Hey there!

What are you using to play music with? I'm asking that because some soundcards support sample rates higher than 192kHz. When the sample rate is set to be higher than 192, issues like that error message may occur.

Another reason why this happens is corrupt cache or some other issue with your installation, which can be fixed via clean reinstall. Regular reinstall may leave residual files behind, but a clean reinstall allows to start off fresh again. See how to do it here.

A third common cause (on Windows at least) is Spotify using the wrong output. Windows allows users to set a default output to individual apps, so that one program uses headphones and another defaults to speakers. Even if you set your overall default device to one thing, Spotify might still have something different instead. See this HowToGeek article on how to edit these settings.

Let me know how it goes : )
