Minimizing spotify changes sound for the worse. Dolby Audio related.

Solved!

Minimizing spotify changes sound for the worse. Dolby Audio related.

Hi

I have been searching for a long time for a resolution for this problem. When "Dolby Audio" is enabled in Playback device properties, the sound is great when the spotify window is in focus. As soon as I minimize og change focus to another window, the bass almost dissapears and the sound is much worse.

If I disable Dolby audio, the sound will permanently be worse, however it doesnt change when minimizing/changing focus from spotify.

How do I keep dolby audio (and the great sound) enabled, but get rid of the minimizing problem?

Please help...

Hello,

I also had this issue.

Dolby Audio has its own desktop app where you get control over the settings. Just search in windows for 'Dolby Audio' it came up for me.

You can see with this that it switches to 'Music' when spotify is in focus, then back to 'Voice', when minimized.

With Dolby Audio open, you can change it back to Music. It should then stay there.

You probably have to re-do this after restarts etc.

Hi

I cannot fint a Dolby Audio desktop application 😞 But it sounds exactly to be what I need to do!

I will try to find it online, and return here.

That's annoying.

Mine was in the following location if that helps at all:

C:\Program Files\Dolby\Dolby DAX2\DAX2_APP

Interesting, I only have DAX2_API and not DAX2_APP.

I can probably install it from somewhere...

Oh my God... this has been bothering me for many weeks now. Thank you so much for posting this solution!

**bleep**, thanks so much. This has been driving me mad for two days...Particularly useful that you included from a Lenovo tools perspective, since I'm using a Lenovo because...I work at Lenovo... 😉
