Missing album thumbnail that navigates to current song in playlist

My Question or Issue

There used to be album artwork in the bottom left corner of the desktop Spotify app. When you clicked it, it would return you to the song location in the currently playing playlist. (See attached screenshot, I drew a red box where it used to appear.)

This album thumbnail has vanished. I have no way to get back to my playlist besides clicking the back button a million times (I'm a heavy Spotify surfer) or manually finding the playlist in my library again (pain in the **bleep**).

I found a few threads from 2015 for this exact issue, and it was marked as a bug and fixed:

https://community.spotify.com/t5/Desktop-Mac/Bring-back-clicking-on-album-art-to-jump-to-where-the-s...

Can it be fixed again?

Hey there @gem0303!

Thanks for reporting this to us and welcome to the Community! We'll be happy to help you sort this out.

You could start with a clean reinstall with the steps here to make sure that all old files that might be causing trouble are gone.

It's also important that you re-download it from the Microsoft store.

Give your device a quick restart before you start the newly installed app.

In case the issue persists, could you ask a friend or a family member to log in on your computer and test this out to see if they get the same issue?

You could also check if you the album art appears on our web player for you.

We'll be on the lookout for your reply.
