Offline storage location resets after reboot

Using a mapped drive as an Offline storage location gets reset to the default location after the computer reboots.

 

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Map a Network Drive to a letter.
  2. Go to Spotify and change "Offline storage location" to your mapped drive.
  3. Wait for all your songs to be downloaded.
  4. Close Spotify and reboot your device.

 

Observed Results

  • After reboot the "Offline storage location" setting gets reset to the default location.

Expected Results

  • "Offline storage location" setting persists after reboot.

 

System Information
Device: PC

OS: Windows 11

App Version: Spotify for Windows (64 bit)
1.2.60.564.gcc6305cb

Thanks for reaching out, and sorry for the late reply!

This is happening because of the mapped drive you're using for download storage — and yep, that’s expected behavior. Right now, it’s not possible to use a mapped drive. We recommend choosing a storage folder that’s on the actual device itself, rather than a third-party device or network.
