PC spotify cannot see speakers on LAN

PC spotify cannot see speakers on LAN

Hi All,

Got an odd problem on the windows version of the Spotify client. When connected to wireless I can't see the devices connected to the LAN ports.

On the IOS version it's fine, I can see both wireless and LAN devices.

Both IOS and PC are on the same wireless network....

Any ideas?

Hey there @m92x9fgw-r_m9!

Thanks for reaching out to us.

Just to double check, do you have trouble seeing the devices in your Connect window when you start playing Spotify on on a different device first?

Mobile devices and speakers don't show automatically on the desktop app unless you had the app open on them first or played music with the app active on both devices.

If you still have the issue, can you try restating your router and your devices to make sure everything is synced up?

We'll also need to know what devices you're using to connect and your Spotify versions.

We'll be on the lookout for your update. Give us a shout if you have any further questions.

These are not mobile devices but wired device, connected via LAN cable to the network - Arcam AVR550, Mu-so QB, Cambridge Audio CXN (all on latest version of their firmware).

Only happens on PC spotify client download from the website (latest version).

Thanks for the update @m92x9fgw-r_m9!

We're afraid that receivers and speakers don't appear directly on the desktop version of the app.

You need to start streaming songs on them first for them to show up on desktop. Just to double check, do you have have trouble with that?

Keep us in the loop and we'll see what we can suggest next.
