Playback constantly cutting out

Spotify is cutting out several times during each song I play. The play sequence continues to play, but there is no audio for 1-3 seconds. Sometimes there is a short buzzing and distortion of audio before the cut.

Other Spotify suggestions recommend ensuring that Music Quality settings are set to automatic. This does not correct the problem. 

Restarting the app or computer doesn't solve the problem.

This problem doesn't persist with other audio applications I use. 

I have a strong internet connect.
