Hey! Welcome to the Spotify Community 🙂

This synchronization issue between your phone and PC can be caused by:

1. Being logged into different accounts.

2. Outdated versions of the app.

3. Internet connection failures or offline mode activated.

What I recommend you do is:

1. Confirm that you are using the same account on both devices.

2. Update Spotify on your PC and phone.

3. Close and reopen the app on both.

4. Also try using the Web Player: open.spotify.com

If you need anything, I'm here to help! 😊

Keep me updated!

Cheers,

Also experiencing this issue. It's been happening to me for months at this point. I primarily live out of the Liked Songs list, and what I'll notice is if I like songs on my mobile, they don't come through to the list on the Desktop version.

I'm able to replicate this issue across 4 different desktop app instances on 4 different machines and 1 mobile app on my cell phone.

This is an incredibly frustrating issue because I will often times go a few weeks without using Spotify on some of the desktop machines and when I come back none of the music I've added is there. Sometimes it's factors of just a few songs, but most times it's quite literally dozens of missing tracks.

Signing out and signing back into the app does not help. Not using offline or private mode on any of the devices. And when trying to play the playlist in order from a device that has all the tracks just makes the remote machine fail (i.e cast to another device and try to play the correct playlist)

Hi @Variant,

Thanks for the reply.

Have you noticed if only songs saved on mobile don't appear on PC or do songs saved on PC not appear on mobile? And what do you see on the web player among all of this? If it's only the mobile app that doesn't sync correctly with other devices, then the issue must be somewhere there. Consider performing a full clean reinstall there to resolve any damaged cache and force a resync. If you use a VPN on any of your devices, disable it as it can interfere with server communication.

Let us know how it goes.

I had previously tried clearing the cache on mobile and clearing the cache on desktop to try to force it to resync but that did not work.

As per usual, after your reply I did some testing and couldn't replicate haha.

I am going to keep an eye on it though because what I have noticed is that it is most likely to happen if you have not used a device for a while, at that point it then takes a really long time for Spotify to want to sync it seems (talking days before it syncs correctly).

Thanks!

Hi there @Variant

Thanks for your reply and for the info you shared.

Well, it's a good thing this is not happening right now. In this case, make sure the app on the PC is updated, as outdated versions might be causing this. Additionally, if you have the chance, try using a different account both on your mobile and computer to check if you can replicate the behavior. If you don't have any other account or can't ask someone else to try it, you could create an account for testing purposes and delete it later. That way we can rule out if this is an isolated issue with your account.

Anyhow, we'll be here in case you need help.

Updating here again.

It happened today. My mobile and laptop were not synced. Songs that were liked on Mobile did not populate on my laptop running the desktop app (not Windows Store).

I performed a clean reinstall and the songs synced when I signed back in.

Will continue to test with a friend's account.
