Hey @Emdosis, welcome to the Community!
Could you please tell me what device and operating system are you using? 🙂
Looking forward to your reply!
Hi @Sebasty I'm using a laptop which has windows 10 home edition on it.
How is this relevant if I may ask? I think it's the same for everyone. A few days after playing any given artist they will vanish from recently played. I don't think it has anything to do with me.
I need that information to help you better. 🙂
Also, I don't seem to have any issues with Recently Played, it stays full.
If you haven't tried that yet, I'd recommend a clean reinstall: it will refresh the app and get rid of app errors. Restart the PC before installing Spotify.
You mention that listening to a certain artist causes that issue. What artist is it?
Also, just to clarify, is it happening in Recently Played (under Your Library) or Recently Played Artists (your profile)?
Let me know how it goes!
Hi Sebasty, I'll try installing the latest version of spotify (hopefully it works this time) and see if the issue still persists. Thank you for your help.
(and yes, it's the 'recently played' list in the library section)
(edit: I'm almost sure a clean reinstall will wipe whatever's in my recently played + search history... oh well, gotta do what you gotta do
(edit2: search did not get wiped))
Yes, reinstall wipes Recently Played as well as play history (in Queue).
I'll be here for you. 🙂
Ok so I installed the newest version and after using it a few days I see the same thing happening again; artists I played a few days ago will vanish from my recently played list 😞
Alright, thank you for letting me know. 🙂
Recently Played keeps a specific amount of recently played material and if you're listening to a wide variety of music, it will remove the oldest albums/artists/playlists in the selection.
If also the very recently played artists disappear from the list, could you try another device with your account to see if the issue persists? I also suggest taking a screenshot of the Recently Played now, and again when you see some artists missing. 🙂
Let me know how you get on!
