Removal of volume add-on

So whenever I change the volume on my computer there is now a big spotify bar next to it that shows what I was/am listening to - is there some way to remove this? I didn't give spotify permission to do this, and more importantly it's just obnoxious. It covers up things on my computer, and I have to wait there for it to go away.

Hey there! Welcome to the community!

You can head over to 'Edit > Preferences > Display Options' and turn off 'Show desktop overlay when using media keys'. Take a look at the screenshot I attached for more information!
