I like to use Spotify while I write, but I've noticed for the past couple months that, whenever I type, the frequency of crackling, buzzing, and popping during songs increases significantly. I don't think it's because I'm hitting keyboard commands when I type, since it's inconsistent as to which keys coincide with the glitches. The glitches stop entirely when I stop typing, even if Word, my primary word processor, is still open. It's crackling even as I type this post. It also seems to happen in the web player. I've now had this issue occur on two separate computers, both HP.

Can you let us know which version of Spotify you have on your computers? Also - would you mind try with another internet connection to see if the issue persists?
In case you didn't try this already, it'd be great if you'd give a clean reinstall of the app a go with both your HP devices before testing this again. As far as the Web Player is concerned, did you already try clearing your browser's cache and cookies?

Thanks for getting back to us with the results.
They show that the root cause of the issue most likely lies with your device or network settings.
Could you have a look at your Windows hosts file for Spotify entries and if you find any - remove them. You can find instructions on how to do this here, even though the article was written for another issue.
If that doesn't fix thing, run Windows in Safe Mode with Networking - if the app works with no issues there, we'd suggest adjusting different network settings and uninstalling any software that might be conflicting with Spotify's connectivity.
