Spotify Keeps pausing unless I close the app on another computer - NOT PLAYING SIMULTANEOUSLY

My Question or Issue

Something started happening recently. I have spotify for Windows on my work computer and also on my home computer. If I forget to close the Spotify app on one or the other it will not play at the other location even though nothing is streaming on the other end. I confirmed that if I close the app at the other location it works. 

The issue is I often leave work and forget to close out of spotify which means I cannot play music at home. The work around to SIGN OUT EVERYWHERE before re-logging into Spotify is really annoying. Why is this happening and is there any way to fix?
