I've been logging into Spotify Web using my Facebook account for the past few months since I got premium, and recently I keep getting logged out of web player whenever I exit my browser. I checked my settings and I don't have the checkbox for clearing my cookies checked. How can I stop the web player from logging out everytime I exit my browser? I'm using Firefox.
Hey there!
Do you have the "Remember me" option checked when logging in?
Hello!
Yes, I do have "Remember me" ticked, which is why I'm confused as to why I'm always being logged out.
Hey everyone,
Thanks for reaching out.
We hope you don’t mind us replying now as we just stumbled upon this thread. Could you let us know if the issue persists when using a different internet browser? It's also a good idea that you've allowed saving cookies and don't have any browser add-on that might be clearing them and the cache.
Keep us posted.
i am experiencing this issue, also, when I log in there is no "remember me" option
yes it persists, even my friends account has the same issue
Hey there @mystic0603,
Thanks for reaching out in this thread!
Just to confirm, do you experience this behavior every time you close the tab or the browser? Do you notice any difference using another browser?
It's also worth clearing any saved cache and cookies from the browser in this case, as it will remove cached data which may interfere.
If possible, you can give it a try from another device and internet connection as well, should this behavior persist.
Let us know how you get on.
Hello, I have the same issue. It started a couple of days ago. I am quite sure it is a bug. I use different Pcs, all Win11, and different browsers (Firefox, Edge, Opera). I canceled cache, canceled passwords, restarted windows, cleared temporary files (from browsers and from OS) and so on. I haven't modified windows or updated any browser in the last days. I also created a new account, maybe the old one has been taken over, but not, it is the same with the new one. Open Spotify logs me out everytime I close the browser, not if I only close tab. I am quite sure it is a server side issue.
Same issue here. Open Spotify logs me out everytime I close browser (Edge, Firefox, Opera). Cleared cache of browser and pc. Changed password of Spotify Account. Created a new account (maybe the old one has been hacked.. luckily not). Nothing changes. I have not updated windows or browsers. It seems to be a bug server side. It started a couple of days ago,

Am I the only one who doesn't have a "Remember me" button?
It's such a pain to have to log in every time.
I am having this problem as well. It has to be something happening on the backend of spotify. I thought it was coincidence with me downloading the spotify app on my desktop as it happened as soon as I did that for the chrome web app, but it seems to have nothing to do with that.
Just to clarify, I did clear my cookies, allowed cookies, and changed my password. There is no "keep me signed in" button as I am utilizing the chrome website application on my windows 10 pc. Every time I close the browser it prompts me to sign in again, which is more annoying than anything. Can this be fixed asap? I have been using this product seamlessly for the better part of a decade, and would love to see this resolved.
Hi folks,
Thanks for all the info you've shared!
Can you try disabling all of your browser's extensions to see if that makes a difference? Can you also confirm if you're using a VPN? If yes, try disabling it as well.
It's also worth checking if there are any pending browser updates and installing them, if any.
Keep us posted.
I don't have any browser extensions, and not using a VPN. There are no browser updates. Spotify has been logging me out when I shut Chrome every day for the last week or so, it's very annoying.
Hi there,
Thanks for your reply and for trying out our recommendations.
Try going to your Account Overview page and Sign out everywhere. Additionally, remove access to all the apps you've connected to your account from here. You can easily reconnect your apps anytime. Once done, log back in and check if that makes a difference.
On another note, if you by any chance, use any extension or app that clears your browsing data, try disabling them and check if that helps.
Lastly, is this happening on your personal computers? Or are they company/work computers?
Keep us posted!
I'm also experience this issue. Happens with Safari, Vivaldi and my default, Opera, on Mac. Also with Vivaldi and Opera on Windows. Only Chrome hasn't have this issues, lately.
I'm also experiencing this and it is clearly a Spotify issue since nothing has changed on my side.
@ mods: How many people need to reply here before you stop recommending nonsensical solutions like "do random stuff to your browser" and admit that this is Spotify's fault?
Hey folks,
Thanks for posting here and welcome.
We understand where you're coming from. Rest assured we'll do our best to help. We could not replicate this behavior on our side, so would you mind sharing with us the exact troubleshooting steps you've tried so far? That way we can avoid repeating any steps.
Just to confirm, do you use a VPN on your computer? If yes, try disabling it to see if that makes any difference. Keep in mind Spotify doesn't officially support VPN. This means that issues with the app while using VPN are expected behavior.
On another note, do you use any cache-clearing or task-killing apps on the affected devices? Take into account that these apps can affect the performance of your browsers. If yes, we'd recommend setting your preferred browser as an exception on those to see if you notice any changes.
Keep us in the loop!
