Thanks for reaching out. A VPN can cause a multitude of issues with Spotify, so we generally recommend against it. Besides that though, does this issue occur on all browsers or just one? If it's just one, which is it and what version thereof are you using? If you haven't tested, please try on different browsers and on different devices if the same issue happens. Also send us some screenshots or a video of the behaviour. With this info, we'd be happy to take a look.

Name of the ad: tiklain. Seems to be an ad about bread or something like that. Can't tell you more because the link doesn't actually lead anywhere for me
Time heard: 13:39, 14th of July
Reason for complaint: Ad was silent and Spotify stopped playing music after the ad stopped
Also, this is like the 5th time I'm trying to post this comment now and there's a different error message every time. I don't know if there's a better way to submit when errors are happening but if y'all are relying on these comments to tell you when things are going wrong then I'm 100% confident you're missing out on a lot of information

System: PlayStation 5 Spotify app.
Ad: unknown, generic black screen with a tag symbol on it.
Time: 8:25 pm, July 30 2023
Region: Oregon, USA.
Issue: Spotify was not advancing to next song, managed to force skip. When time for an ad, no ad played and Spotify will not move past to another song.
I'm experiencing the same problem. I use the Spotify app for Windows, as well as the apps for iPhone and iPad. I use all of these to connect my SONOS system to Spotify, and the issue occurs whichever I am using. Most of the time, an ad causes the system to go quiet, though you can see the playback continuing on the progress bar, and music will not recommence after the ad. NOTE, this occurs about 90% of the time - the other 10% works properly.
Pressing PAUSE and then PLAY during the silent ad rectifies the issue and starts playing the ad from the beginning.
I don’t use a VPN but the same problem is happened to me and has been happening for over a year now.
This is also happening with me now! Disn't had it before and it's really annoing!
