Spotify can't play some local files when they are the next song.

Spotify can't play some local files when they are the next song.

Basically, I have a local file, and if it is the next song in the playlist or queue, it won't play and will give me the message that spotify can't play this file. HOWEVER, if I click on that song to play, it will play. Anyone have any help or soutions? The files are FLACs comverted to Mp3 in foobar, and I've already tried removing them and re adding, and clearing the cache for local files.

 Thanks

I have the same problem with a song

I have the exact same problem with some local songs but only when audio fade is enable... weird

wow yea it actually works when I turn fade off

When playing local files, Spotify occasionally states "Can't play this track". Various recommendations have been to turn off hardware acceleration, turn off high quality streaming, turn off crossfade, but none of them worked. This problem existed both for the Win10 Store app and the desktop app.

Finally fixed it yesterday (tested it by letting my computer stay on playing all night) by going into the prefs file at %localappdata%\Packages\SpotifyAB.SpotifyMusic_zpdnekdrzrea0\LocalState\Spotify\Users\username-user\prefs (thats for the Win10 store app. The desktop app is probably in %localappdata%\Spotify\Users\username-user\prefs) and setting audio.crossfade_v2=false and audio.crossfade.time_v2=0. Somewhy Spotify don't read or write these settings correctly so setting them in the "Preferences" menu don't work.
