My Question or Issue

The desktop app won't load music or my playlist. When I click my playlist to open, I get the "something went wrong" screen. I've tried reinstalling different versions, cleared the appdata, and everything else I could search for. The browser one works fine but the desktop app is completely busted. Has been working fine until yesterday.

Hey @Thilarro,

Thanks for posting in the Community and welcome.

This is indeed odd. We understand you've reinstalled the app, but just to confirm, have you tried clean reinstalling the app on your computer? If you haven't, we'd suggest you follow the steps in this article to do it. By doing that, the app can be up-to-date and you can make sure the cache is not leading to this inconvenience.

If the above doesn't do the trick, we'd recommend removing any entries that contain "Spotify" from your Hosts file. To do it, you can follow the steps in this guide.

Lastly, if this behavior persists, would you mind trying to run the app in Safe Mode or Safe Mode with Networking to rule out any issues with your default Windows settings and basic device drivers? Give it a try and let us know how it goes.

Keep us in the loop!
