My Question or Issue
If i just want to start one song, a pop-up comes up with the message "Spotify currently cannot play this. If the file is on the computer, you can import it" (In the picture below you can see the pop-up-message in the blue window). I tryed many songs but no one is working.
And if i try to play a whole playlist, all songs start switching without playing.
At my smarthone, everything is working right. But if i try to start a song (or a playlist) on the computer from my smartphone, I have the same problem as described above.
I tryed to sign in new, i restarted the router, i reinstalled spotify....
Maybe you can help me 🙂
Greetings from Austria

Hi @clemi__, thanks for writing!
It might be a server communication issue, and you can fix it by clearing the cache.
First, completely close Spotify. Then create a backup of the cache folder "Storage" by renaming it. It is located:
Windows: C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Spotify\Storage
OS X: /Users/USERNAME/Library/Caches/com.spotify.client/Storage/
Linux: ~/.cache/spotify/Storage/
You can rename, let's say, as "StorageBackup" (this later can and should be deleted as long as nothing gets messed up in the meantime).
Then restart Spotify. It will recreate the storage folder as it tries to write to it. It should work now!
(You can access the folder through Windows Explorer. If not, you can navigate to it if you go to your folder options and select to show hidden files and folders. (make sure you switch the USERNAME with your own)
Let me know how it goes!
Same issue, tried the same solution. Still just rapidly scrolls through songs without actually playing them.
Same problem after clearing the cache
