Spotify using large amount of data on windows

Spotify using large amount of data on windows

Spotify is using over 9gb in my c:\users\username\appdata\local\spotify\data folder. it seems like this folder keeps growing. I don't have any music saving locally on my machine so not sure why it's grown so large. Would there be any downside if I started clearing out the data in there? Is it just caches?

Hey @bobsage! Thanks for coming to the community!

Sorry for this late reply, but that sounds like cache. Cache is data Spotify stores on your computer so you can play your songs faster and without streaming/downloading it over and over again. You can clear your cache by deleting the Storage folder here: C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Spotify\

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Take care! 🙂

Deberian hacer algo que se borre automáticamente al cerrar la aplicación, esta mal que un usuario tenga que ponerse a borrar los temporales o cache de una aplicacion.
