Spotify won't play any imported files on Windows 10

The files show up on the local files screen and it shows all the information for them, but when I try to play one I get "This song is not available. If you have the file on your computer you can import it." I also cannot add any music to it either. I have the latest version of Quicktime installed and that does nothing. I have it setup to import from the "my music" file and that doesn't do anything. I would like to be able to import songs to my playlist that aren't on Spotify. I appreciate any help or comments on this issue.  *Edit* They play perfectly fine on my Samsung Galaxy s5 if that helps at all.

I have the exact same problem. It won't let me import them either but it works perfectly fine on my Iphone.

I figured it out I think. I deleted it from my desktop and then redownloaded it and restarted my computer and now it works. Hopefully it works for you too

Tried that a while ago. I have had this problem for several months now and couldn't find anything that works. Thanks for telling me though!
