Spotify wont play the next song

I will listen to a song and then once it reaches the end it will just stop and wont continue to the next song unless I skip it

Are you queuing a playlist or single songs? If it's the latter and your Autoplay setting is set to 'off', make sure your Repeat option is not switched off 🙂 You can locate it here:

P.S.
As you're mentioning that a next item does play after a skip, this implies you're not playing a single song so the above answer might actually not apply to your case. What I would suggest is clearing your cached data first to see if that would make a difference. You could also take things a step further and go for a complete clean reinstall of the app. Keep us posted!
