My Question or Issue

When i launch the program and start a song right away, it will start playing for 2-3 seconds and then i get a loop and second 2-3 are played again, but the song will not start  completely from the beginning, then it plays normally and so do all songs afterwards.

except if i choose another playlist for example and start another song manually, then it will happen again.

but also not always, sometimes it works sometimes not.

never seen this problem before, until i updated the porgram today.

is this a known issue? i couldnt find anything.

thanks

nope, i tried this happens in both for me

hey CarlosE,

it has been happening to songs i haven't liked. i'm using a HP pro book (operating system: Windows 10) and it doesn't happen on the web player. the issue started (about?) a month ago after an update.

I'm using windows desktop, and this happens to me, too. It loops the previous second by either 0:03, 0:06 or 0:11, and I'm honestly kind of sick of it because I've gone through multiple threads similar to this and have not gotten a fix.

Spotify has been the only app I've gotten to use to effortlessly stream music, but lately I've been getting impatient even if I tried to bear through it, because it's getting frequent in every song I play. I've tried:
- Uninstall/Reinstall method
- Log out&in method
- Different account method

and yet nothing seems to be changing. It does the work for at least 2-3 songs, and then it goes back to the perpetual loop of repeating 😕 I'm sick of the fix attempts and I genuinely hope they look into the bugs of their coding because all these people have been telling others is the same methods over and over. Thanks.

I've been experiencing this issue too, it's really irritating. I've tried reinstalling the program and deleting any files left behind in %APPDATA% as well as Program Files. It doesn't make any difference, the issue persists.

Exactly same thing started happening to me a week or 2 ago. I've researched all the possible solutions:
- A clean reinstall of Spotify, from Microsoft Store, then from the Spotify website itself;
- A reinstall of sound drivers. Tried multiple versions of the sound drivers;
- Swapped hardware (idk if this would make any difference, but I had different computer hardware available so I did it anyway, why not);
- Checked/unchecked hardware acceleration;
- Changed/cleaned storage location;
- Messed with the settings, tried all sorts of options;
- Changed streaming/download quality;
- And all sorts of other stuff that is available to be changed, literally everything else that is either directly or indirectly related to Spotify.
So far I have not found a fix for this.

Same here. It started happening after the latest update. The song would play for 2 seconds and the sounds after that would loop for 5-6 seconds and while this happens pause, next or previous won't work no matter how much you tap them until the song returns to normal.

Also clean reinstall, driver reinstall, clearing cache nothing works. and this happens only on PC (windows 8, plan-free, country-india) and android just works fine.

hey, same issue with mine, for me it is every time I select a different song but it's fine if I just let the playlist play. It was a good laugh at first (basket case was the best) but it's gone on for a few weeks now. It's affected some friends as well and we're trying to work out how to fix it so I'll keep you posted.

How much time does it take for a bunch of Swedes to fix a simple sound issue? Not less than 3 weeks it appears

I mean not fixing the issue that is closely tied to the only purpose of this app for like almost a month is comical and SHOULD cause users switch to other streaming platforms. This is just sad.

I might add that the same issue also persists on Windows 11. I'm using an MSI GF63

Very irritating to listen to music with that looping thing... Good to know I am not the only one facing this issue. Hope it will get fix very soon.

The reinstall from Windows Store worked fine for me.  No more annoying repeating now.

An uninstall and reinstall from windows store worked fine for me to resolve the problem.

So good that it worked for you! I tried that and tried with deleting the appdata file (for spotify)but didn't work though 😞

Hello i found a solution, i had  the same problem and it was suffocating so I went to youtube and listen to Lofi Girls, I found a spotify link and I was like "oh great!" then i played its playlist and experienced no short loop in the begining, then I try to put my songs in a playlist and it plays smoothly and perfectly, so the problem is the "Liked Songs" list.

What I do is just, move all songs in "Liked Songs" to a new playlist, ik i have hundreds of songs in my Liked songs list but, yea that's the only solution atm.

false, maybe it worked somehow for you, but im getting loop even with random songs, it has nothing to do with "liked" or no liked songs

i've been having this issue as well, running on a windows 11 and it started about 2 - 3 weeks ago, have uninstalled spotify multiple times to no avail, every song i stream (excluding local files) seems to have this issue, so im not quite sure what's going on

This problem annoys me so much. Hope that they fix this in an update very soon

Hi folks,

Thanks for the feedback so far!

Could you try the following:

  1. Open Spotify on your PC, then run Task Manager and go to Details.
  2. You should see a couple of instances of Spotify.exe in the list. Right-click on each one and under Set priority, select Normal. In case Normal was already selected, choose High, then set it back to Normal.

Let us know how it goes.

Cheers!
