My Question or Issue

When i launch the program and start a song right away, it will start playing for 2-3 seconds and then i get a loop and second 2-3 are played again, but the song will not start  completely from the beginning, then it plays normally and so do all songs afterwards.

except if i choose another playlist for example and start another song manually, then it will happen again.

but also not always, sometimes it works sometimes not.

never seen this problem before, until i updated the porgram today.

is this a known issue? i couldnt find anything.

thanks

@Pinklemonadeisyummy i have that problem for a week, i think its better than loop at least it wont give me an headache

I found a solution for this problem... works for me at least.

Okay, so what I did was to go to program manager on Windows where the user can uninstall an app. Instead of uninstalling the app, I selected the app, went to advanced options, pressed REPAIR and RESET. Since then, I haven't had the looping issue.

Jesus christ Spotify, can't you already fix this **bleep**? It's been a month already. I've already found the first half of the fix for you, the problem is related to the lyrics, most songs without lyrics don't bug out while the ones with it do.
When the song keeps repeating, you can see Spotify trying to sync the lyrics with the song. You can notice this problem if you pause the song mid freeze while looking at the Lyrics.

Now please fix**bleep**, it's annoying.

my OCD has been triggering ever since this bug was present and I thought it was just a bug reinstalling can fix, but NO I have to live with this for however long it takes spotify devs to fix. Welp.

in windows file explorer, it should be under

c:\users\__your username__\appdata\local\spotify\browser

look for the folder called "Cache" its not hard to miss but go in there, control A and delete, for the box that comes up click skip for all. i hope this helps everyone out

Good news guys, in the new version 1.1.83.954 this was fixed, I've been listening for an hour, there is no bug.

Yep, that works without any problem.😀

Same here, it mainly happens when I use spotify on my laptop, I'm not facing anything on my phone for now, but I won't bet on it.

Hello @CarlosE,

Thank you for taking the time to solve this issue. the problem I believe is only when I play my liked songs playlist. In addition, it only seems to happen when I manually start a song by clicking, or if a manually started song loops. I am on the latest version of Spotify as of today, and I would really love to see this bug fixed!

Thanks,

@TomTom1056

I didnt download the new version but people that downloaded says it was fixed!

After dealing with this issue for over a month, I've downloaded version 1.83.956, not officially available in Spotify's website, but available in the sheet sent by amd64fox. I used to use build 1.81.

At least in my device and OS (Windows 7), the issue has been fixed in the new version.

my man really leaked his ip like that **bleep**

not you leaking your ip **bleep**

it keeps repeating whenever i start a song for the first time since launching the app or if i change the playlist

Descarga la ultima versión en este lik de esta ya no tiene este problema

de nada.

I figured out howe to clear the cache and it worked for me, you want to go to your windows search bar and type %appdata% and enter. Then if it takes you to the roaming folder then just click on the appdata folder on the top of your screen. Go to the Local folder then search Spotify in your folder search bar, wait a bit and there should be 2 spotify folders, click the one that will show you the "data" folder. Click on the data folder and delete everything, when a popup that says that it could not delete this file just simply tick do for all current items then skip. Restart your spotify then it should be fixed or decrease the number of times it repeats at least.

There arent a folder named Spotify

This problem should be fixed because it's extremely irritating, especially if you're using a speaker.

Whenever a song begins to play, it skips like a broken record. What I mean is: the same note will play over and over, and over and over again until it becomes unstuck and plays normally. Even when it plays normally, I see a message that says that Spotify can't play the song.

I believe I too have the same issue as the people above (though I could be very far off), but what I have happening after I choose a song manually seems to line up with the original post. Here's what I got, and I hope this helps.
