My Question or Issue

Why is Spotify taking up 10GB of my C drive in the Local Appdata's 'Data' folder? I have instructed any downloaded music to store in a different location.

I have searched the forums and I've seen other chains on the issue but nobody has ever resolved.

Hey @RW66,

Thanks for reaching out about this here in the Community and sorry about the late reply.

Would you mind letting us know if you’re still having troubles with this?

If you do, we’d first recommend trying a clean reinstall of the app before trying to have the downloaded music stored in a different location.

Let us know how it goes! We’ll be right here if you still need help.

Hi Mario,

Thanks for the response.

Yes I am still having this problem. The Spotify folder in appdata seems to just slowly increase in size over time. I actually uninstalled and reinstalled the program after the first message and deleted the folder mentioned but as I check now it's slowly creeping back up with 3.3gb of data stored. I currently have no songs or playlists downloaded so it shouldn't be storing any data at all.

Its yera 2021, im having over 10gb of data stored. I googled this problem and its been like from 2016.. ???
