Taskbar Says 'No internet' and spotify stops working until ethernet is unplugged and replugged

Solved!

Taskbar Says 'No internet' and spotify stops working until ethernet is unplugged and replugged

Anyone ever seen this?

This is at work, so I have no ability to adjust any gear without going through IT.

The internet actually does work for all other apps. It's only Spotify that goes all gray.

When I unplug the ethernet a couple times, the Taskbar icon changes back to happy, and Spotify songs go ungray, sometimes after restarting it.

I'd like to find a better way as I feel like my ethernet port is going to get worn out.

I have tried changing the cable and it didn't solve it.

Internet keeps half dying. Is there a solution to keepalive without re-plugging ethernet.jpg

Hey @jag_ceter,

Thanks for posting in the Community and welcome.

In this case, it's important to mention that when it comes to work environments, we cannot guarantee functionality, as that is strongly dependent on the local setup, restrictions, filters, etc. All of those may have restrictions that can block the proper synchronization of the desktop app/web player.

This behavior might come directly from your network provider's settings and, unfortunately, we can't influence that. Consider asking for further insights from your IT department, so they can help allow Spotify the access it needs.

We have seen on some occasions that flushing DNS settings or setting Spotify as an exception on VPNs seems to help, so you're welcome to try that. Nonetheless, we cannot guarantee this is a permanent solution.

We hope you found this helpful. We're always here to help.
