My Question or Issue

Issue (since solved): whenever I am in a teams meeting, my Spotify (and some other audio) gets muted. As soon as I leave the meeting, the issue is solved.

Solution

Since I couldn't really find a good solution anywhere and just ended up finding people giving up. Here is my solution after a hint from a friendly Redditor:
apparently, teams has access to the sounds of the devices you select as input and output devices.
My Spotify didn't work when I was using my wireless headset's microphone, even though I could use any other output device for Spotify, it just didn't work.
But, as soon as I switched my microphone to another input source on my (in this case) laptop, everything worked as hoped.

TLDR: switch the microphone input from your wireless headset (or at least the device you want to listen on) to any other microphone input on your pc and it should work!
