My Question or Issue
For playlists that I was trying out the new mix tool on, it's stuck and can't be removed. For playlists that I wasn't using the new tool on, the mix option is no longer available. This happened yesterday. I have unistalled and re-installed 4 times, including the "clean" method of looking for any remaining files to delete. I have contacted the support chat and all they suggested was uninstalling and re-installing, even after being told I had already tried that.
The only thing I can do now, is make a copy of the 'stuck' playlists and delete the faulty ones. If I restore the deleted lists from my account settings, they restore as being stuck in mix mode.
Hi there @HeddaB,
Thanks for reaching out. We'll be happy to help you get the playlists in order.
We've done some testing with the Mix feature, but we haven't encountered anything like this so far. So that we can look into this further, could you please provide us the following:
With this information, we’d be happy to investigate.
Keep us posted.
Exact same problem. Spotify removed the "Mix" button yesterday and now all my playlists that had it enabled can't remove it.
It's on them, gotta wait for a fix.
Same here on my PC. Can't use Spotify anymore, which is a crazy way to maintain your software. I'm baffled by how stupid this is.
Here's an example. no button for turning off mix. the dots menu has nothing either.
I have found a sort-of solution. The playlists that were stuck on Mix mode on the desktop version - in the IOS version on my iphone I was able to turn off the mix. I and extremely annoyed that nobody at Spotify has been any help with this issue that is being seen by several people. How can nobody in Spotify know that this bug is happening and how to solve it? The ability to use the mix tool is still off for playlists on desktop and good riddance to it, the novelty isn't worth the trouble.
I second this, the mixing button disappeared in Windows version 1.2.75.510.g8f748905.
Hey folks,
Thanks for your replies and the info you've shared.
We've forwarded this to the relevant for further review and we'll get back to you in this thread once we have news to share.
Cheers,
It's a desktop environment problem. I was able to disable the mix feature in my android phone.
The same here with Mac Os. Since many people have it, it must be a bug of this Spotify version.
I also found that out at my iphone app.
I also found that out on my iPhone app. I closed a desktop app mix using my iPhone app.
You made a change recently to introduce cross fade for wannabe DJs. It's awful. I can't turn it, even if cross fade and gapless playback are disabled. I absolutely hate it. Undo whatever change you did, or you'll lose tonnes of customers
Also having the same problem in Windows 10. No mix option or remove mix option and playlists are stuck in mix. I checked on iPhone and Android apps, the playlists aren't stuck in mix they are normal but there is no mix option in those too.
Hey Hedda
I had the same problem and found that just opening the Spotify app on the phone and disabling the mixer feature for the specific playlist from there works, syncing to the laptop. Let met know if this works for you too.
These options (at least for me) were only available on Mobile. There was no option for any variation of the word "Mix" outside of a toggle in my profile that did nothing. So if anyone is having trouble finding this maybe try the mobile app, worked for me.
Absolutely garbage update.
