My Question or Issue
The Spotify tray icon/widget has only one function: mouse left click brings up the application. There are no keyboard actions defined (RETURN, SPACE, Shift-F10, Menu, etc.). Also, it seems like the tray widget has no "name" defined: other application's tray widgets are selected when pressing the first letter of the application's name, e.g. "s" for Spotify.
As I use the Windows multiple desktop feature, Spotify is often on the wrong desktop, but the Windows tray is always available. I also dislike having to shift from the keyboard to the mouse (i.e., the keyboard shortcut Win-B, application name first letter and/or arrow keys selects a tray icon fairly quickly).
It would be really useful e.g. to have RETURN bring up the application, SPACE to pause/resume playback, and ideally some other functions (skip, reverse, volume up/down) on the tray widget's pop-up menu. Obviously, these features are pretty much those available on the Windows music playback widget, but there seems no way of getting this widget to show aside from using dedicated media playback keys on the keyboard.
