My Question or Issue

I updated my spotify on desktop earlier tonight, and ever since I cannot play a song through. It keeps on auto pausing the song approximately 30 seconds in, every time. I thought perhaps there was a conflict so I updated spotify on mobile too, but the issue still persists. I cleared the cache on desktop as well, without any improvements.

Anyone has some thoughts on this?

Edit/update: Playing a song on mobile, the video continues to play but the timestamp pauses and the music disappears.

Update2: Upon reopening spotify on phone I was promoted with the new feature of people on the same wifi being able to join in on my listening session. I asked the household to disconnect from wifi and mobile data, as well as close any spotify apps on phone/desktops. I attempted to play a song again being completely disconnected from anyone else, and the same issue still persists.

Update3: Attempted to sign out on all devices via my account - no improvement.

Hey there @Azería,

Thanks for posting in the Community!

We understand you're experiencing issues with playback being discontinued after a short period on your desktop app. Could you confirm if this is only happening on your desktop app for now? You mentioned that you've updated recently the apps on both devices, could you share with us the version numbers of your apps?  As you have logged out from all devices, please also make sure you're logged in with the correct account on the preferred devices.

If everything on mobile is fine, we suggest you to perform a clean reinstall of the desktop app, as this is more thorough reinstall method (with few extra steps added) and ensures that no cached data will cause interference with the new installation of your app. See if this would make a difference.

Hope this helps. Let us know how you get on.
