My Question or Issue
Hello! I have this annoying issue and I hope you can help me. When I drag the volume slider and start changing the volume, it just isn't doing what I want. For example when I drag the mouse to the right (to add volume), the volume indicator (that white dot) starts to randomly jump instead of following my mouse movement and the volume change is delayed for like 2 seconds. So if I have volume somewhere in the middle and I want to add it a little bit, instead of doing so, the volume just starts to jump from loud to quiet and after few seconds it stops on random level. And also while this all is happening, Spotify isn't reacting to other actions like Play/Pause, Skip... I have to wait until the volume stops on a random level. I tried to enable/disable all settings (like hardware acceleration, Volume normalize...), I tried to re-install Spotify, I tried different versions of Spotify (directly from spotify.com and also from Windows Store) but I can't get rid of that.
I hope you understand my problem and that you can help me. Thank you
Hey there @Ascendus,
thanks for posting !
Sorry to hear you're having an issue with the app.
Would it be possible to try and use your account on a different PC ?
It'll help determine if that's an account based issue or a device one.
Thanks 🙂
Hello,
thanks for your tip!
This is wierd, I tried it on another PC and the glitch is still happening but only visually. The slider is still randomly jumping, but the volume changes corectly. And there is no delay. I am really confused right now 😄
Thanks for any help
Similar here. Win10 and Win7u PCs, volume does not work at all to Chromecast/Audio.
Hey there @hashtagnopecake,
Welcome to the Community!
You've mentioned that you tried to log in on two different windows machines and experience the same behavior from the volume bar.
We'd like to see if this could be an issue connected with your account, rather than the computer.
Could you try logging in with a friend's account and see if you can control the volume slider then?
We'll be on lookout for your reply! Don't hesitate to reach out if you have more questions.
This is happening to me and my friend too, on random pcs.
Hey folks,
Thanks for searching for the answer you need here.
To everyone experiencing issues with the volume bar, we recommend logging out and back in to your account. If that doesn't fix thing it might be a case of corrupted app files that are causing this. Such issues usually get resolved by performing a clean reinstall.
If the volume bar still doesn't function correctly, we'd appreciate it if you let us know whether or not the issue comes up on another device or on the web player.
@Ascendus thanks for the troubleshooting you've done so far. Could you share a video of the glitch? You can use the Insert Video option in the post editor. Just be sure to mark out any private/ sensitive info.
Keep us posted! We'll be happy to lend a hand if you need more help.
the problem is still happening even on other devices and other accounts. It's clearly not an account issue its the application I've done several reinstalls and restarted my computer as well. it also happens on other accounts and other PCs. I don't know why there hasn't been an update already addressing this issue when so many people have had it. I've looked through multiple community forums and all of them have moderators saying it's the account and not the app, and they never just plainly say it. I'm putting an mp4 file of the issue. can there please be an update fixing it, please.
in the video, I used my most and ctrl + scroll wheel as suggested by a moderator(which had the same effect)
Hey there @80n0gnhlonlrepw,
Thanks for reaching out to us 🙂
The troubleshooting steps you've tried so far are very good. We'd like to suggest a few more. That way we can have more information about it and see if it's a device or an account-related issue.
Can you try running the app as an administrator? If that doesn't help, you can install the app in Safe mode.
If the issue persists, we'd suggest you log in to another account on the same device. Does the issue persist? If you still experience this issue, you can head here and add your +Vote and Subscribe to the thread. That way you can stay up-to-date with any relevant news about this.
Keep us posted! If you have questions, you know where to find us.
I AM PAYING FOR A SERVICE THAT I CAN NOT USE!!! MY VOLUME IS UNCONTROLLABLE MAKING IT IMPOSSIBLE TO USE SOMETHING I PAY FOR. WHERE IS THE FIX SPOTIFY??
Hey @loveycatsfish,
We're sorry to hear you've experienced this frustrating issue.
Have you tried any of the abovementioned steps? If yes - which ones?
Does the issue also persist across all devices?
We hope to hear from you again soon!
Many thanks & cheers 🙂
