It's just started on my Macbook Pro, early 2011.

£10 a month for a service that doesn't deliver clean audio is SHOCKING.

I'm still having the issue on Win 7 and have every suggestion applied. Help?

Would you be able to provide links to two tracks which you find a noticable difference in?

Sure:

Owl City – Deer In The Headlights

Mumford & Sons – Whispers In the Dark (issues with all three Mumford songs I listened to)

Interesting, just had a listen can't notice a difference myself.

Do you have any of these tracks stored as local files on your computer at all (so mp3's you have purchased or ripped from a CD)?

Also worth double checking the "Set same volume level for all tracks" option is selected in Edit > Preferences > Playback.

No, they are just streamed through spotify. I tried toggling the "Set same volume..." option both ways, and it didn't appear to make a change. This is a new issue as of today, as it is very noticeable. I've been using Spotify on the same laptop and Windows 7 install for months, without this issue. Thanks for your help.

If it only started happening today it might be worth trying a quick clean reinstallation and see if that makes any noticable difference.

Good idea - will give that a try.

I think I found the issue, and thankfully it was not a Spotify issue. I neglected to check my soundcard's software settings. Disabling the Audio Enchancements seems to have fixed this issue. I will go back to using Equalify. My software is SRS Premium Sound Pro. I figured this out as I noticed a volume change issue with YouTube videos as well.

Thanks jag64551, that worked for me as well. I unchecked the "Audio Enhancement" in SRS Premium Sound Pro settings and the problem disappeared.

A similar solution seems to work on my laptop as well (running Windows 8.1). Of course, the sound quality is not as good now, so that's annoying....

Don't have to do this with YouTube, iTunes, etc., so why is it necessary with Spotify??

I have the same issue as well.  Running Windows 8 on a new laptop (HP with Beats Audio.  Spotify works on my tablet and my old laptop.  I actually returned a laptop because I thought it was the sound card (Toshiba), but same thing on this one.

Uninstalled & reinstalled Spotify.. Changed all the setting I could find (even the Window ones) one at a time to see if it made a difference, but nothing works!!

Come On Spotify!!!  Can't you get this fixed???

Thanks!!

I have this on my HP Laptop, I found you need to disable the beats audio effects for Spotify to work properly.

Thanks, Peter.  I gave it a try, and you were RIGHT!!!    YAY!!!!!!!  Thank you!!!

Hello,

I am struggling with this issue on my work laptop (HP 8470p) and still no valid solution. I have tried everything that has been suggested on this thread and nothing makes it for me.

The one proposed solution I can't even test is the one where you find "windows audio enhancements" tab and untick some checkbox there. The thing is that that I have no "windows audio enhancements" tab available, just the remaining three: playback, recording and communications. Can that have to do with the lack of user rights on my machine? Since I haven't administrator rights for it.

Would really appreciate some help 😕

Best,

Alexandre

How do you disable Beats Audio?  I noticed this issue today and ALL my songs are going up and down like a carousel.  It's annoying as hell.

On my HP laptop you can disable it from the system tray icon (in Windows 8 desktop mode) or from the Beats Audio control panel (it was a pre-installed thing!)

I have a windows 8.1 HP with beats audio. When I turn the volume down, the volume will slowly increase, or as I turn it up, it will decrease. I have tried all the previous solutions to no avail. It is almost as if I don't have any power over the output of volume.

If you disable all beats audio things, do you get the same behaviour?

I'm still trying to figure out how that is done.  I don't have a "Disable Audio Beats" option.  I've messed with all the settings but don't want to end up deleting something that my computer needs.
