Volume up and down keys actually mute spotify

Hello,

I'm running Spotify under windows 11 on a new Asus Vivobook.

Whenever Spotify if playing in the background, pressing the volume up key (f3) or vol down (f2) actually mutes Spotify, and the song keeps playing. 

This has only recently started happening, and doesn't happen every time - sometimes the volume keys work as they should.

I have tried updating the bios, and playing with the audio options on windows 11 but no success. 

Does anyone have any thoughts?

Could you share a short screen recording which shows this behavior in action so we can take a closer look? If you haven't already, try running the app in compatibility mode for Windows 10 or reinstalling it to see if that would fix it.
