Was getting "offline error code 4", now worse.

Was getting "offline error code 4", now worse.

Well, after upgrading to the latest greatest version of the app tonight at work, I get the 'error code:4' message.  I found a few threads, tried all sorts of sketchy half-hearted workarounds (I should not have to modify my network settings that work perfectly for every other application, because an update to yours is clearly buggy), none of which worked.   

Found the suggestion of uninstalling, did that. Reinstalled.  Now, get stuck at the greyed out login screen like so many others, apparently.  I am using the correct login info, every other app/connection ect still works on this (work) PC.

This is clearly an issue with the latest version, please assist.

I had the same problem. Couldn't find an older version to install, so I restored the Spotify directory with a backup from earlier in the week. Now I'm able to play music just fine with the previous version.

That did it.  Had to download an older verision from a 3rd party website, uninstall the current version and install the older one.   

Doesn't say much for Spotify's software.  Starting to remind me of Slacker before they started circling the drain.
