What exactly does friend activity show?

I've heard that it only shows a song played after 30 seconds or halfway through of listening but I just wanted to know officially what is being shown

I believe friend activity only shows songs where you have listened long enough for it to be considered a stream (30 seconds, according to this article). From my experience, it is usually 1-2 songs behind what you're actually listening to.

For example:

You listen to a 4-minute song, a 7-minute song, a 3-minute song, then a 5-minute song.

Usually, it will show the 4-minute song when you're on the 3-minute song, so the 7-minute song will actually show for 5 minutes.

Keep in mind this is just theoretical based on my experience.
